- Fly to LHR on AA (pay for the ticket and try to upgrade with evips)
- Use miles to fly BA Business Class from LHR to DAC
The second option would be to try and get award business class from Toronto or Montreal. If I read the chart on AA.COM correctly, it would cost me 135K miles for a Biz seat.
I am writing to see if you all have any opinions/suggestions.

The LHR-DAC flights only run twice a week - outbound on Wednesdays and Fridays, Inbound on Mondays and Saturdays. Operated by a 777. Knowing this will help craft your dates when speaking to the AAgent.
The good news is that in July and August award availability in Club on the LHR-DAC-LHR route is wide open.
However, there are going to be problems getting a business class award on BA from London to either Montreal or Toronto as it is peak holiday season and there is little or no availability until later in the month. Though outbound on 25 July is available, nothing available in J until 22 August at present on the return.
It is wide open in F, though, so perhaps you could see if it is possible to take that once tricky sector (LHR-Toronto/Montreal) in F, though not sure if mixed cabin rewards are possible.
