Yes, you can now bring scissors providing they have blunt tips or have blades that are 4" or less in length. I would put them somewhere that you can get to them easily though. Everytime my husband goes through security with scissors, TSA asks to see them, so he's learned to keep them in an outer compartment.

Your post made me think about a Thanksgiving trip with my mother in late 2004 when TSA found - and confiscated - five pairs of Ghingers. She'd just come from a quilting trip where she'd checked all her bags, and she'd forgotten they were there. As I was the one who insisted she carry-on bags when traveling with me, I ended up buying her a lot of replacement Ghingers that year. Happy quilting.
