From what I understand, and I have no first hand experience, if this is a contracted event/meeting/banquet then the only way you get points is if you meet the qualifications set forth under the meeting/events link provided above. Kind of hokie if you ask me. Then again maybe you will get points by charging the banquest to your room. Others may have more concrete insight as to the possible outcome.

BTW, have the points for your room posted yet? If they have, then charging the $3000 to your room did not work. Meettings/events may well be coded in such a way that those charges, like taxes, vendor charges, etc. don't earn points. If the points for room have not yet posted, then time will tell.
