This is a funny thread.

All kidding aside, I didn't leave my kids for that length of time when they were that age. But I did occasionally loose the surly bonds of motherhood for an hour or two, and something I found quite useful (in addition to Camp Grandma) when my kids were little was a babysitting co-op. We took turns with several other couples watching the kids.

Maybe find a like minded couple and trade weekends. I personally wouldn't leave the little urchins for a weekend with people until they had done an evening or two with them, but if these folks must travel for fun away from their children ( I am trying very hard not to ask why did they have them in the first place?) then some kind of reciprocal arrangement would be nice.

My ability to travel now that the "baby" is turning 21 this weekend is all the sweeter for not having been able to do it so freely for many years.
