I think the Hyatt Gold Passport is probably the best hotel program out there in terms of earning awards for your stays. I've stayed at Hyatts less than 20 times for less than 40 nights or so over the past couple years and for that I've gotten two free two night stays (including a free two night stay in Sarasota over fourth of July) and have enough points for one more and a Nights after Nights certificate for one more.
I especially think that the bonus promotions they run are unbeatable, such as the Nights after Nights promotion and the current Maximum Miles promotion.
In comparison I've stayed ten times for over twenty nights at Marriott properties (Courtyard and Marriotts mostly) and I have enough for maybe one night at a Courtyard, and I'm struggling now to get points for a two night stay next year in Annapolis, which will cost me 35000 Points!!! The equivalent stay at a Hyatt would cost 25000 points.
