Last fall, as a Gold on a gov't rate, on a 3-4 nite stay going into the weekend, I peeked at the hilton.com on-line c/i options the night before, and found low floor# choices -- so passed on that. Next a.m., I called the voice mailbox before heading out to SFO, then on arrival, went directly to the HHonors c/i area and was not only offered Exec. floor choices but the staff looked for a while for a more spacious room with a partial lake view. I'd conclude that availability of u/g space and the staff knowing of your u/g interests may make a greater diff. than room rate at the PH.
