Flew a 346 last Sunday to Shanghai, where I am now. There was a Hon in the plane, and myself as a high-ranking Senator. The Hon got 1A with nobody in 1B. I got 1H with nobody beside me, either.
The cabin was pretty full, with only other 2 or so empty seats, so it was nice of LH that they gave us these seats, and nobody beside us.
I don't think seat allocation was by chance (when you fly European trajects, only high-ranking passangers get 1A, 1C, 1D, 1F, for instance, even if the flight is empty)
If that's not clue enough, I find the other fellow boardmember's comments rather to the point: More space and individual TV screen in your seat, not in front of it.
Lavatories are not that far, that's true, behind a curtain.
