"The Home Office's Iris Recognition Immigration System (IRIS) is a quick, convenient and secure way to clear immigration on arrival and is currently open as a trial scheme at Heathrow Terminals 2 and 4. This service is expected to be of particular interest to regular travellers. Passengers enrolled on the scheme will be able to enter the UK through a special automated immigration control barrier incorporating an iris recognition camera. The barrier is located in the Immigration Arrivals Hall and will form part of Immigration and Passport Control.
"Enrolment for the scheme is currently free and voluntary, and will take place in the airport departure lounge. Immigration Officers will assess eligibility and enrol those who qualify.

Received this in a newsletter from BAA Worldpoints program, so cannot say if non-UK residents can register for the card.
