My father met his current wife (his second, after his divorce from my mother) on an airplane. They ended up seated together on a flight while my mom & dad were still married, and long enough before the divorce that I assume (but what do we ever really know about this kind of thing) that he had no reason to anticipate the divorce. After the divorce, he recalled that the pleasant woman he had met lived in the same town, looked her up, and gave her a call.
