my favorite was a recent flight koa-ord where the last two first class seats were cordoned off for crew rest. one guy--not a fa, perhaps pilot or first officer by uniform--shut the curtains and slept the entire way back to the mainland.
i was told by phone csr the week before (while sweating my upgrade, which did come through on day of travel) that with flights of that duration, they have to have those seats put aside. she also explained that was why using the expert setting showed more seats available than the seat map showed doing a dummy booking. can that be true? wouldn't the availability tool 'know' that two of those seats were reserved for crew rest?
