I'd say it will not cost you the extra $600+ you mention will be the saving between CAI and IST -the CAI-IST airfare. Total taxes&surcharges for my recently ticketed DONE4 ex-IST were around 600eur.

Regarding the future prices ex-IST (or any origin, for that matter), I'd suggest you call the American President, he might have a clue...
