The QF Plats have extra luggage allowance on the JSA routes when flying on BA aircraft. Unfortunately, I do not think that I own enough to exceed the baggage allowance.
Beware, if you get bumped off BA at LGW onto AA, then they are already 23kg per piece and you might get charged excess. At this point, go to BA and tell them to pay. It has worked before
Not sure where the 9kg/20lbs cabin bag weight comes from. Not a cabin safety requirement for certification of the overhead bins or underseat stowage. 18kg is you weight limit but not sure of the 2x9 requirement.
