I guess anything is worth a try, but as the seat you reserved using an RC coupon was unavailable to the MVPG/MVP during the 72/48 hour upgrade window. The agent is most likely to put you back in coach and release your seat to those waitlisted. The only exception I can think of is if you agree to redeem 10K miles, which roughly has the same rules as the RC.
