I guess if we are to ding KE for their behavior under the days' circumstances, we should also be dinging all the airlines in US airspace that failed to land at their scheduled destinations, ding those same airlines for the huge numbers of delayed and cancelled flights, and finish off with how poorly passengers were treated (people forced to camp out in school gyms and not hotel rooms!)
Face it that there was a lot of unprecidented things happening, and all of the airlines worldwide behaved in numerous unconventional ways at times - even breaking established protocols.
But if this is what it takes to justify your avoiding KE, well ... so be it. But if this keeps you from flying KE, you better avoid UAL and AA where problems were a bit worse
