I've never heard of this happening before.

I have a good friend who is a member of staff at a Hyatt hotel in the US where I stay from time to time. There's nothing more than friendship between us, but he won't fraternize with me in the hotel (except for brief chats across the front desk), visit my room even briefly, or leave the property with me, in uniform or not. It's company policy with which he agrees.
