Hit on by hotel staff
Last weekend I stayed down in London and was hit on by a uniformed member of staff there. I'm not sure if I should mention which hotel I stayed at since I don't want to get the staff member in trouble, so I won't, but you can PM me if you are dying to know. I was quite surprised that this happened because I would have assumed that this kind of thing was strictly banned, especially from an on-duty, uniform-wearing staff member. Anyway, here's the story...
It was around 1am and I didn't quite feel like going to bed so I decided to go downstairs and take a walk. From my room I could see a sort of riverfront dock/marina area but when I got downstairs I couldn't figure out how to get there on foot. There was a guy from the hotel on a cigarette break standing outside so I asked him if he could tell me how to get to that place. I explained to him that I wanted to get to the place that I could see from my room. He asked what room I was in so he could figure out what I would have seen from my window. I told him I didn't recall the exact number. He then said that he would actually like to see the view from my room and he offered to go up with me and look. At this point I absolutely figured out what was going on. I just said that I was sharing the room and my friend was sleeping and so wouldn't appreciate the disturbance. He then said he would be as quiet as possible and then asked "how close" I was with my friend. At that point I just said "no thanks" and went back to my room. Of course in retrospect the situation sounds a bit interesting at the least, but I was too in shock to even consider such a thing.
Anyway, has this happened to any of you before? Do you think that this kind of thing is rather shocking or does it happen often?
