Well done. I did similar with my last trip:

-Made sure I watched availabilty in Y go to 0 and then booked online so the system put me in WT+

-Booked into the Sheraton when possibly cheaper options around

-Well since gettig only an economy meal, had to have a bite to eat at the airport. Oh, look, Caviar House!

-Took a day out on the outbound and return, so that's two days productivity down the toilet.

I think it's time we had a peasant uprising and attack evil travel managers. I'm sick of them.
