I totally agreed. I should have stayed at a hotel at the Ipanema beach instead of "ghetto" Copacabana. Visit Copacabana beach for one hour in one day. Spend most of your time at Ipanema and Leblon Beach. You won't regret it. It's just my experience. Yes, I do feel safer around Ipanema beach at night.
