You can get fairly cheap flights YYZ-SYD with TourEast (approx 1.4k taxes in). Not sure if the fares are valid in September, but 2.8k extra for biz class seems like a hefty premium. And plus, if you fly mid-week you may be ok with a SSWU. I would go for the lotto for that kind of money.
