Pdx42, you must've stayed in one of the North Tower rooms. They are due for renovation in a few months. The nicer, newer Raffles, The Plaza rooms (with nice bathrooms) are the ones in South Tower.

I just stayed at Raffles The Plaza; and though the service was excellent; I felt my corner 'grand room' a bit dated in decor. The original Raffles across the street is interesting; but it feels very touristy with the shopping arcade, etc. My choice if/when I return: the Four Seasons.
