The only US airline that will allow a domestic stopover of less than 4 hours is WN, and that's only if the time between the arrival and the second connecting flight (WN's definition says that a stopover occurs when a passenger stays longer than the first connection, taking a later connection instead) is less than 4 hours. Again, though, this is completely irrelevant to what AA's policy is.

The point remains that when you corrected andrzej, you were wrong when it comes to AA's definition of a stopover. Anything else you're bringing up regarding other airlines, getting refunds, etc. is irrelevant to the discussion, and is, IMO, little more than you trying to deflect the fact that you were wrong. I know you are having problems accepting that, but that's the way it goes.
