Our big one was they changed our hotel rates to actuals. So before the change we received £60 which was to include our hotel and all food... so if one found a flea-infested rat hole and ate carry out stuff, one could pocket a reasonable amount of money if one was a lower paid member of staff (I'm too much a luxury-whore to do stuff like that, but it was done). Then they changed it to be up to £55 actuals for the hotel, and a per diem on top for food... suddenly everybody's hotel staying strategy changed, so they were all trying to hit as close to £55 as possible - since there was no direct benefit accruing to them of saving money, why try to save money?
