Yes the are issued on AA stock. I had an e-ticket with the 001 on all DL flights that I booked on AA.com. It was easier to get the schedule down on AA.com than it was delta.com. Easysabre was great, sure do miss it. I used it till the last day and I was forced to travelocity.
