The OP crossposted this question to the QF forum ...

You cannot book AA codeshares on standalone bookings for domestic AU and I did suggest over there to avoid the higher red-e-deals since they are ineligable for miles and also that the QF supersavers and above can be booked on aa.com for 9% less than on the QF site ( since the 10% GST is avoided ) and in USD
