Slightly off topic, and I guess things could be worse, but when our upgrades hit, my wife (a mere Platinum) and I are never assigned seats together--always window seats next to an empty, rows apart, even in an empty cabin. I must manually put us together, and AA states that there is no fix. Strange since we share the same PNR. Initial computer seat assignments are always together before the upgrade.
