Please note that you do not have to be a lawyer to join the ABA to take advantage of the negotiated rates and other savings.
From the ABA web site:
"Become an ABA Associate if you are a lawyer licensed outside the U.S., a legal educator, a paralegal or a legal assistant, a law-office administrator, a law librarian, a consultant, or someone seeking access to the wealth of ABA benefits to develop a competitive advantage in your field."
"The status is available to lawyers licensed outside the U.S., as well as legal educators, paralegals and legal assistants, law-office administrators, law librarians, consultants, and any other individuals interested in law."
"The ABA fiscal year runs from September 1 through August 31. Associates joining after October 1 are charged a pro-rated rate for ABA dues. Section, Division, and Forum dues are not pro-rated."
"Privileges of Associates
