entire island of kauai has been/is affected. oahu appeared similarly when i was there on thursday.

in any event, the concept still stands. when the big winter storms come, usually two to four weeks a year, it just isn't beach weather, period. when planning travel to the islands, especially for november and february/march, this can be an issue. there are exceptions. like a year ago, when november's rain came over xmas/new year.

and in today's (3/13) weather: "THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HONOLULU HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL OF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON. WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS AND WILL LIKELY AFFECT ALL ISLANDS."
