In the pre-security days stories were told of foreigners boarding what they thought was a flight from SFO to Oakland and ending up in Auckland.

To bolster the story, there was supposedly a nonstop continuation flight available from SFO to OAK at the time. Now it looks like you'd have to go via LAX.
