Unbelievable....I had her search the E, F and R buckets day by day. I'll try again and thanks. Intl award itins are usually a work in process (at least CO allows waitlisting whereas NW segs do not).
By the way I can tell from Amadeus profesional GDS (travel Agency system) which I have for last seat availability to see the empty cabins with no J seats sold ....completely virgin seat maps., and the KVS tool for R class availability.
I was trying to plan for 3 trips: April, July and October trips in the same call......NG. It is rediculous. THere was (supposedly) no CO space outbound at all in E, F or R....just a few random dates which did not line up with an outbound or return.....very frustrating.
I did not see any of the PEK inventory you refer to.
I just booked statdard return on CO 98 on standard BF (F class)
for Halloween day 06 (a good flight for me) and an outbound end of March (confirmed) just to make a reord and then added a bunch of waitlists for the right dates to make the itinerary flyable. I am not interested in Economy for that lang a haul. I'll do EWR-MDW in coach in a pinch but not HKG. I'd rather not go. A freind of mine who does it says the second part of coach flight is better than the first because by then, you have no feeling left in your legs so there is less pain. As they say in HK, Aiiiiaggghh
Last, what ever happened to to statment: Elite members should sign in to receive better results!

For EWR-HKG, I see standard award business class awards on 3/12 (CO to NRT, NW to HKG), 3/19 (same routing), 3/30 (CO non-stop), 4/6 (CO non-stop), 7/19 (CO/NW), 8/2 (CO/NW), & lots of dates from September onwards.
Coming back HKG-EWR, there are standard business class awards on 3/20 (NW/CO), 4/11 (same), 5/9 (same), 5/16, 7/11 (CO non-stop), 8/24 (CO to NRT, NW via DTW), and then a lot of dates September onwards.
PEK is more weird. Some dates in March, a lot of dates in April and early May, but only standard coach. [March is still 15,000 miles one-way coach.] Again from August onwards. Only one BF standard date.
Coming back, BF standard awards on 4/3, 4/6, 4/12, 5/5, 5/6, 5/10, 5/11, 5/15, 6/6, 6/27, 7/5, 7/25, 8/8, 8/16, 8/29, 9/5, 9/12, 9/13, 9/19, 9/26, whole bunch of dates in Oct and so on. Most, if not all, NW to NRT, then CO to EWR.
I really hope CO will fix the glitch with no Elite availability soon. This is getting ridiculous.
