Unusual is not the word! I travel to Asia 5+ times a year and have been at it a long time. Up to this year, I always got at least close to my requirements every trip.

The nice CO agent in SLC (yes, she really tried) explored every option in my bag of tricks which is a formidable list. We both "brainstormed" and were at it for over half an hour. I even explored partner routings via Europe as well as the default "NW/CO" combo via everyplace.

No Luck. The flights were all empty (many with zero sold in BF) and the best I could do was a return flight from HKG to EWR in October at standard and an easypass outbound. Hopefully the waitlist game will improve it.

Amazing!!

Just sounds unusual for no award seats at all for the 9 month period.
