One of my children would turn 12 during the round the world trip. Would he qualify for the child's discount if travel commenced before his birthday? Or could he qualify for part childs fare for the part before his birthday (the majority) and part adult fare after?
Thanks.
Currently, it is not possible to visit JNB on the regular RTW fare. You could fly DXB-MRU-DXB and pay for a side trip MRU-JNB-MRU.
AFAIK, Arabian Airpasses can be bought in conjunction, but you could add them on to the RTW as well.
Generally speaking, the fare of the ticket is based on the age of the child on the last segment. However, it is a grey area when you have open segments. For example, a family member had a ticket which was open dated for the return and they got away with a child fare although they were over 12 by the return date. If you know that they would be 12 part way through the RTW, the adult fare will be charged.
