I am not sure that HH is doing the 'wrong' thing or the 'right' thing. I am just curious about why the method of payment is used as the deciding factor. Just to reiterate, I am not, nor was I, upset about the situation, just surprised.

I also found it interesting because:

1) I did receive the stay/nights credit
2) I was the only one with an hhonors account
3) Another time, when I shared a room with my brother, he paid for it (I paid for dinner), we had both our HH #s on the account, I got the credit.
4) The CSR recommended that in the future either I pay the whole thing and get paid back from friends or that if splitting a bill pay in cash. Seems kind of strange to suggest that (I appreciate it, but still it essentially circumvents the point they are making in the first place).
