Aus North was fine with a friendly staff - check-in person walked me to the elevator talking about the ammenities - the area is boring.
I stayed at a the Marriott and SHS 'Airport' properties and they were also very friendly.
I agree that the Marriott Capitol is not as friendly, but I like walking around the capitol and downtown (great live music bars). Also, if you walk across I-35 there is a great BBQ place (Ben's); very run down but great food. If you're into ambience then skip it. The owner is very personable and the food is great. I think they are only open for lunch.

For the person mentioning multiple consecutive reservations, sometimes they are handled seemlessly, sometimes not. Freq travellers either accept such minor inconveniences or get frustrated a lot; the latter is very unhealthy.

Some travel industry personell give us inconveniences, never stress. We give ourselves stress with our reaction to these inconveniences. Once I understood this I found myself a lot less frustrated.
