A news article from todays edition of The Nation newspaper in Bangkok

THAI to unload four ageing aircraft for $136 million
Thai Airways International will sell its four MD11 aircraft for a total of US$136 million (Bt5.3 billion), or an average of $34 million each, which is higher than their book value of $15 million-$16 million apiece, said THAI acting president Somchainuk Engtrakul.

The jets, in service for more than 20 years, are being sold to US-based ALG Transportation Inc. The sale was approved by THAI's board at a meeting late on Wednesday. The company will have two B777-200s delivered in the second half of the year, adding to its current 91-plane fleet.

Dow Jones Newswires reported that THAI targeted revenue of Bt200 billion in fiscal year 2007 from Bt180 billion expected in the current fiscal year, which ends on September 30. In fiscal 2005, the company recorded revenue of Bt162.5 billion. - The Nation.
