Alternatively you can take the CTA train. Blue Line trains take about an hour from the airport to the Loop and a ride costs $1.75. You are allowed free transfers to other lines at Washington, State, Clark, Adams, etc.

So if the taxi is going to cost me around $50 I might as well pre book a nice car for $55, and have someone waiting for me, rather then having to wait in a queue?

Although the CTA might be a good options, costing next to nothing, and since I will not be in a massive hurry...
