I don't think that LX will stop offering non-stop flights such as zrh-jfk for example. There is actually a demand for that trip.
But unfortunately I also have the feeling that in a long-term, most of LX longhaul flights will be dropped.
Another scenario could be, that one day (in a very long-run), Lufthansa will be offering longhaul flights ex-zrh. It's too early to say, and I guess it depends on political rights also.
