Actually, I think the prices are pretty good considering miles are somewhat worthless. Hanging around FT, you start to see value in miles... but it can be misleading. First, to take a free trip to Asia, you still need some $$ to spend while you're there! Many folks don't have the $$, but have the miles. So this is a chance to use 'em. Of course, finding availability for free tickets is always fun, too.

When this was a targetted offer last year I bought a ton of Xmas presents for folks. We've got a baby on the way and limited travel plans for the forseeable future.

So spend those miles on merchandise, I say!
