My practical view is that they should have to buy another seat - but this should be at a discount - certainly no more than the child rate.

Afterall, there will still only be one person going through security/immigration checks, one set of meals, one check-in event, one set of luggage.

I suppose someone will now point out they will ask for more food, their luggage will be twice as heavy (bigger clothes) etc
