ARRIVING on a *A flight (in my case, UA from IAD) counts.

Arriving does count, so far at least. I have done it several times before going to town to have a shower. Bbut maybe the balck card made the difference. My experience is that they are usually VERY happy to help. Also Swiss is now so tuned into *A that I would believe they allow you to use it, but as I said its not that nice.
