Anaggie that is just not true. Smith Barney Card use TY network and phone number to redem awards. And Smith Barney Card has a reward option to redem 5000 TY points into AA miles. I was able to pool my PP Elite card points with my Smith Barney Card points and redem 40K points into AA they never complained or said a word or even asked if I earned points on PP Elite or my Smith Barney Card. They asked me for my credit card number which I gave them my Smith Barney card and they completed the transfer no question asked. Only card in the TY network which allows points to be redemed into AA program is Smith Barney Card.

So they could just add rewards which Chairman card members can only redem just like they added a reward for Smith Barney visa card.
