We have also had issues with planning family travel at the Four Seasons. In particular the Four Seasons Hampshire. We did reserve an Executive Suite, which at the time showed occupancy for two adults and two children. After making my reservation, I received a call from the manager stating that only two "small" children could be accomodated. Mine were 8 and 10 at the time. After a lengthy discussion in which I questioned why their room descriptions were not clearer, he condescended to let us stay, provided we would not expect such treatment again. He was polite, but I was not very eager to stay given that I had to put up such a fuss over clear website language. We stayed somewhere else. The website language for the Four Seasons Hampshire has now changed. But I have noticed issues with other FS hotels, where the bed capacity of the room does not seem to match the stated occupancy.

With two children, you almost always need to contact the hotel directly. And while Four Seasons rarely discounts second rooms, I was recently surprised when I called for a room at Claridge's London, and got two rooms for the price of one. I was very impressed by this truly child friendly policy from one of the top hotels in the world. I like FS, but they are rarely our first choice anymore because they simply make things too difficult with two children.
