I've noticed that J seats on late-afternoon JFK-LAX flights open up pretty frequently early in the morning -- in other words, seats assigned to people on J tix Europe-JFK-LAX who change/cancel/miss their XXX-JFK. That kind of thing probably happens ex-"HUB" with great regularity.
