Thanks for the alternative ideas. As this trip is far away I have time to make adjustments. The traveling does seem a bit time consuming. A flight from Rome to Nice may be quicker and for only 29$ can't beat it.

Paris is a must (for the fiance) - 5 nights in paris is to take advantage of 4 nights + 1 free. So versailles might be out of the question in terms of using points, YPMV.

Florence & Rome are not both a must. We could limit this down to 1. Possibly hit northern Italy on another trip or hit Rome Southern Italy on another trip. But I haven't been to either so it is extremely hard to decide.

Nice/Monoco - Not a must but we would like to cap off our trip with a relaxing beach resort. Any other ideas for this one?
