Is this AMEX the membership rewards program. I am not familiar with this program. Can the points be switched to AA directly. If not, then you might be better off with the starpoints AMEX where for every 20,000 transfer you would get a 5000 bonus. You seem to know a lot of places that take AMEX so that would be your better way to go in the future. If you have an existing TWA account, you could transfer to TWA (if MR doesn't allow to AA directly) and they will be transferred to AA in a couple of months.
