Regardless of why they did it, I am glad to see it happen. I went through ATL security by the AA terminal 2 weeks ago and put my briefcase into the scanner on the right (the one with out any way to see the belt ahead of time). It came out sticky from the idiot who tried to put his coffee through it an hour earlier. Geeze!
