free change to next day co-terminal flight?
I was due to fly yesterday night. The automated flight info service left me two voice messages each informing me of a delay -- flight delyaed from 9pm to 9.30 and then again to 10pm. SInce I was worried it might be pushed even later, I called the Plat line and they accommodated me on a flight to a co-terminal the next morning which was much more convenient for me, and in fact which would have cost significantly more than the original destination had I bought it at the outset. In addition, my original ticket specifically disallowed co-terminal changes.
I was really impressed with AA here.
Is this common, when there's a delay? Was it a nice agent? Did status help out in this situation?
