Well, I'm impressed. I haven't travelled on VIA for several years now but the last time I did, from Winnipeg to Vancouver, the train was delayed for more than 12 hours and there was no talk of any compensation at all. Once we started to get behind schedule, we were shunted repeatedly to let freight trains go by. It sure reinforced where the money was for VIA, and it wasn't passenger travel.
Has the on-time arrival percentage for VIA improved since they started this compensation program?
