I heard a new variation on this during my last flight to LHR..."Stay seated during the entire flight". This came during the Captain's "welcome PA" in place of the normal "staying in your ticketed cabin" spiel. There was no mention of this during the return flight.

Is this something new, or is that particular Captain "free-lancing"? Anybody else heard anything like this?
