You made a good point. As a Plat Elite, I appreciate NW's courtesies in upgrading me from economy. But the three times last year I bought roundtrip revenue tickets in F, I flew transcontinental on UA because I knew I would receive the guaranteed meal and added FC service on their flights.

If NW had not cut back F services, my revenue tickets would have been on NW instead of UA. We all make our own economic decisions. Maybe NW is still ahead with the cutbacks despite the F flights you and I took on UA.
