It's good advice UA001 but the HKG-SFO fares are high too in biz class. I'm know there are good Y class fares sometimes (from HKG, PVG, and PEK) but I usually try to find a good deal on biz class (generally around 2500 RT) so I often times hop on a short flight to BKK of TPE out of HKG (for around 1800 HKD RT) to get on UA biz class. The difference in a UA biz fare from HKG and from TPE is outrageous in my opinion but obviously someone is paying these fares because the flights from HKG area always full.
Plus if I didn't try and find the cheapest fare for the most miles I'd have no reason to hang around here!
